First isolation and identification of Ureaplasma spp and Mycoplasma lipofaciens in commercial hens in Mexico

Abstract

During a study carried out in Mexico in 2003 and 2004, both Ureaplasma spp and Mycoplasma lipofaciens were isolated from the upper trachea of live, healthy commercial White Leghorn (Gallus gallus domesticus) birds. In total 13 U. spp and 8 M. lipofaciens isolates were identified among the 223 mycoplasmas isolated.
